Nokia Says Signs China Deals Worth 2 Bln-Plus Euros

Mobile phone handset giant Nokia said on Sep 12 that it had signed network and handset deals with Chinese customers which would be worth more than 2 billion euros ($2.55 billion) this year.

The Finnish company said it had agreed a 580 million euro deal to supply GSM/GPRS network system equipment to China Mobile.

And Nokia also said it had signed a memorandum of cooperation with China Postel to boost handset sales, under terms of which China Postel is expected to buy about 1.5 billion euros in mobile handsets from Nokia in full-year 2006.
