China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) yesterday announced the telecommunications service report Q2 2011, the data show that in the second quarter, China's total number of telephone subscribers reached 1.21 billion, up 2.54% sequentially; mobile subscribers reached 920 million, of which, 3G subscribers exceeded 80 million; broadband Internet access subscribers reached 140 million, an increase of 24.6%.

Meanwhile, the wide variety of business applications made the mobile data services market active. Over 100 thousand mobile applications including software, games and reading grew rapidly, mobile reading subscribers reached 57 million, up 229% over last year; registered users in mobile application stores exceeded 100 million, up 257%; mobile payment subscribers reached 35 million, up 195%; mobile video subscribers exceeded 35 million.
