Brazil's National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) approved the Multimedia Communications Licence (SCM) for China Telecom do Brasil, reports local portal Teletime. One of the company's partners is China Telecom Americas, a US company based in California that offers voice and data services for mainly Asian enterprise customers. The business plan submitted to Anatel shows that the company plans to start its operations in Sao Paulo by installing Points of Presence, and later, expand to other states. It also plans to lease capacity on third-party networks. Under Anatel's rules, the company has 18 months to become operational.
