Chinese phone maker Yulong is eyeing the Indian mobile phone market and will hold talks with leading service providers, including Reliance and Tatas, to gain a foothold in the burgeoning market.
"India is one of the largest mobile phone markets in the world and we would like to have a presence here by the end of this year for which we have lined up meetings with some major service providers and distributors," Yulong Overseas Sales Account Manager Ricky Xu said.
The USD 100 million company, which currently operates in China and Hong Kong, is looking at India as part of its global push, though its offerings would primarily comprise high-end phones. "We believe we have a unique set of phones to offer in India like the ''CoolPAD 728'' model that is a GSM and CDMA Dual-Mode mobile phone and costs 700 dollars," Xu said.
