StockMarketWire.com - Chinese power company Datang International Power Generation (LON:DAT) has announced a year on year increase in power generation for the first three quarters of 2011.
Based on the company's preliminary statistics, as of 30 September 2011, total power generation of the company and its subsidiaries amounted to 150.9784 billion kWh, representing an increase of approximately 17.56% when compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
Total on-grid power generation of the group amounted to 142.2769 billion kWh, representing an increase of approximately 17.65% when compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
The significant increase in power generation the first three quarters of 2011 over the corresponding period of the previous year was mainly attributable to an increase in capacity of the operational generating units of the group and an increase in the demand for electricity in the service areas of Datang.
