Datang International Power Generation (601991.SH 00991.HK) has recently received a notification from the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) in relation to the adjustments of electricity tariffs. With an aim to encourage coal-fired power generation enterprises to achieve the requirements on denitrification, a trial electricity tariff of denitrification under a trial tariff standard of RMB0.008/kWh will be implemented on the coal-fired power generation enterprises of the company located in Beijing City, Hebei Province, Shanxi Province and Zhejiang Province.
The said electricity tariff adjustments have been implemented since 1 December 2011. After such adjustments on the on-grid electricity tariffs, the weighted average on-grid electricity tariffs for capacities of the company's coal-fired units with tariff adjustments will increase by approximately RMB25.92/MWh, representing an increase of 6.50%; and the weighted average on-grid electricity tariffs for capacities of the company's hydropower units with tariff adjustments will increase by approximately RMB19.57/MWh, up 6.64% on year.
