South Korea's SK Communications is seeking a partner for its Internet operations in China, Chief Executive Hyun Oh Yoo said on Nov 3.
Yoo didn't name the potential partner, but said the company will complete the selection process by the end of this year or early next year.
The company is an online service unit of SK Telecom, South Korea's No.1 mobile carrier by subscribers. SK Communications launched its Chinese-language online community, Cyworld, in June 2005. At the end of August, it had 1.5 million Chinese subscribers, the company's Web site said. The company is focusing on increasing the number of subscribers in China, Yoo said, without elaborating.
