Judging High Tech Computer's (HTC's) lawsuit against Apple over infringement of S3 Graphics patents, the International Trade Commission (ITC) of the US, on November 21, ruled that Apple did not violate any of the related patents and will end its investigation of the case. Commenting on the result, HTC's general counsel Grace Lei said that the company respects the ruling but will consider an appeal after evaluating the ruling.

VIA Technologies, the original owner of S3 Graphics, won a lawsuit against Apple over infringement of S3 Graphics patents on July 4. HTC, on July 7, announced plans to acquire S3 Graphics with a price of US$300 million from VIA, its affiliate company.
