Chunghwa Telecom (CHT) has announced reductions in charge rates for its ADSL broadband Internet-access service by an average of 20%.

CHT has proposed the price cut to the National Communications Commission for approval and expects the reduced charges to take effect by the end of 2011. CHT currently has 1.93 million ADSL subscribers.

CHT will also increase free use of Wi-Fi hot spot access to the Internet by its 2G/3G mobile Internet-access subscribers from up to 30 hours a month currently to 60 hours.
