Vibo Telecom, one of the five operators of 3G mobile communication services in Taiwan, on August 29 released its financial report for the first half of 2007. The company suffered net losses of NT$1.977 billion (US$59.8 million) equivalent to a net loss per share of NT$1.32.

However, Vibo's financial performance for January-June 2007 improved from the same period of 2006 with revenues of NT$2.12 billion growing by 29.5%. The net loss per share was lower than the NT$1.72 posted in January-June 2006, the company indicated.

As Vibo's cumulative losses since the beginning of operation has eroded NT$9.0 billion of its paid-in capital of NT$15.0 billion, the company plans to raise an additional capital of NT$6.0 billion through issuing new shares by the end of 2007, the company pointed out.

Vibo currently has about 550,000 subscribers and expects the number to increase to one million at the end of the year.
