China's ZTE Corp, one of the country's major telecom equipment manufacturers, plans to bring its 3G mobile network using China's homegrown TD-SCDMA standard into commercial operation by the end of January, a company official said.
Liu Peng, vice general manager of ZTE's Mobile Communications Division, said at a industry conference here that the network will provide services for the Olympic Games In Beijing.
He added that ZTE will participate in China Mobile's TD-SCDMA handset procurement exercise scheduled for next month.
Liu forecast ZTE's sales of Global System For Mobile (GSM) products to hit 10 bln yuan this year.
