GN Communications, the world's No. 1 vendor for Bluetooth headsets with the brand Jabra, expects revenue in China to grow at least 20 percent annually in the next few years.

The Denmark-based firm said yesterday the growth would be due to the rapidly-growing demand for Bluetooth headsets in both the office and personal markets.

GN, in conjunction with Microsoft, has promoted communication suits with "multi-use" wireless headsets that allow office users to move and receive calls from both desk phones and mobile phones, according to Alvin Ng, GN's business development director for Asia Pacific.

"Traditionally people have to be at their desks for incoming calls, which can sometimes last one hour, but now we are setting them free," said Linda Zhang, a senior marketing director of GN's China operations.

The Jabra line of products are tailored for professional managers in the banking, headhunting and IT sectors. The headset market for office users is expected to increase approximately 25 percent in China in the coming years, according to GN, which did not provide detailed figures.
