China Mobile announced on December 17 that it plans to purchase 30,000 handsets and 10,000 data cards for TD-SCDMA testing. TD-SCDMA suppliers must pay RMB500 to join the bidding between December 20 and 23. China Mobile was previously expected to begin TD-SCDMA handset bidding at the end of November.
