China International Marine Containers (Group) Co., Ltd is principally engaged in the manufacture and services of modern transportation equipment. The Company provides four categories of products: containers; road transportation vehicles; energy, chemical and food equipment, as well as ocean engineering equipment. The Company's containers include dry cargo containers, reefer containers, special regional containers and tank containers, among others. The Company is also involved in the manufacture and services of logistics equipment, manufacture of railway trucks, financial leasing, as well as real estate development. CIMC was founded in January 1980 in Shenzhen and has been listed in Shenzhen Stock Exchange since 1994. Today, the main shareholders are COSCO and China Merchants Holdings. Containers: With the products applied in main logistics systems throughout North America, Europe and Asia, CIMC is the only supplier in the world who can provide the whole series of container products with completely owned intellectual property rights. Since 1996, CIMC container output and sales have been maintaining a leading position in the world. In 2007, it became the world’s first container manufacturer that the annual output broke 2 million TEU. “Secure, Green, Intelligent and Light” represents the future development direction of CIMC products. The CIMC’s industrial concept of “Standardization, Modularization and Integration” endows the container industry with brand-new vitality. Meanwhile, CIMC also probes into the new fields like modular building and container house refurbishment for the industry upgrading.
Vehicles: CIMC has over 1000 lines of products in 11 series, including container chassis, flatbed trailer, bulk lorry, tanker, self-dumper, reefer trailer, van, curtain side trailer, mixer, pump truck, car carrier vehicle, fire engine, sanitation vehicle, etc. With the annual output capacity of over 200 thousand units, it now takes the leading position in the world. Up to today, the Group has established 22 production bases, 24 4S stores and more than 400 service stations throughout North America, Thailand, Mid-China, East China, South China, North China, Northwest China and Northeast China. Energy, chemical and food equipment: CIMC has gradually obtained the core capacity of manufacturing and integration in the fields of energy, chemical and food equipment. It is striving to manufacture more mainstream products with international competitiveness, and to become a global leading manufacturer of specialized energy equipment and a provider of integration solutions. As a leading supplier in the fields of CNG, LNG and other energy equipment manufacturing and integration business, CIMC has been maintaining a global leading position in output and sales of tank container for consecutively six years since 2004. Main products and services include storage tank, transportation tank, processing equipment and project EPC services. Today, the energy, chemical and food equipment unit has 15 manufacturing bases and R&D centres across China and Europe, shaping an industrial layout with reasonable distribution and mutual support in Sino-Europe interaction. Main holding enterprises include CIMC Enric Holdings Limited and TGE GAS ENGINEERING GmbH. The latter one is a German independent contractor with over 25 years of experience in EPC of cryogenic storage facilities and terminals for liquefied gases. The Enric business bases are located at Langfang, Shijiazhuang, Bengbu, Jingmen, Beijing, Nantong and Zhangjiagang in China as well as the Netherlands, Belgium and Denmark in Europe. Particularly, Nantong CIMC Tank Equipment Co., Ltd. has become the world’s largest manufacturer for tank containers that provides the most wide-ranging products.
Offshore: The offshore manufacturing bases are currently located at Yantai, Haiyang, Longkou in Shandong province. In Jan 2010, CIMC became the controlling shareholder of Yantai Raffles Shipyard Limited. Founded in Singapore in 1994, the Raffles Shipyard is a leading offshore and marine fabrication specialist in oil and natural gas market. It specializes in the jack-up drilling, semi-submersible drilling platform, heavy lift vessel, pipe laying vessel, FPSO, FSO, offshore tender vessel, offshore steel structure, shuttle propelled tug, luxury yacht, etc. In 2010, CIMC Offshore Research Centre was established in Shanghai and the Offshore Institute was set up in Yantai. Moreover, the State Energy and Offshore Drilling Platform R&D Centre settled in CIMC, which enhanced the R&D and engineering capability in high-end manufacturing for CIMC, to make it an important member in the State offshore industry.
Airport facilities: The airport facility business of CIMC includes airport passenger boarding bridge (PBB), automatic air cargo handling logistics system, auto-parking system, seaport passenger boarding bridge, airport food vehicle, etc. Up to now, CIMC has successfully extended into the markets of over 20 countries and regions including North America, Europe, Oceania, South America, Africa and Southeast Asia. As the World’s first manufacturer who produced PBB for Airbus A380, the world’s largest airplane, CIMC has won more than 100 orders from Europe. Also, it is the first manufacturer of Seaport PBB in China. Holding a leading position in both domestic and global PBB markets, CIMC has become a worldwide influential brand.
Financial services: CIMC Financial Leasing Co., Ltd. is dedicated to providing supports and services by means of leasing and financing for different business units of the Group. Over the past three years, it has given strong supports to the business development and marketing, stimulating the fast growth of business scale and net profits. Approved by China Banking Regulatory Commission on 18th June 2009, CIMC Finance Company was officially put into operation in Feb 2010, which indicated an initial shape of CIMC financial business unit. As an important embodiment in business portfolio during the course of the Group’s strategic upgrading, the finance company operates to expand space for the capital structure optimization and the enhancement of operational efficiency and effectiveness.
