Italian Industry & Commerce Office in the UAE (IICUAE), and Al Baida Group, organisers of Qatar International Exhibition for Transport & Logistics (TRANS4 Expo 2011), have signed an agreement to promote TRANS4 Expo in Italy, as well as to invite Italian investors and companies related to this sector to participate in the exhibition.
The agreement was signed in Doha yesterday by Ali al-Misnad, chairman of Al Baida Group, and Cristiana Cesarotto, representative of IICUAE.
The agreement also enables the IICUAE to promote TRANS4 Expo 2011 to Italian companies based in Qatar and the UAE.
TRANS4 2011 organisers said it is the first and only exhibition in Qatar to showcase latest products, technologies and solutions featuring the four sectors of activity - railways, shipping, freight and logistics. TRANS4 exhibition will take place from October 17 to 19 at the Doha Exhibition Centre, under the patronage of HE the Prime Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor al-Thani and supported by Qatar Chamber of Commerce & Industry, General Secretariat of the GCC, and the Federation of GCC Chambers.
Al-Misnad highlighted the interest of many Italian investors and companies to tap into the enormous business opportunities emerging from future infrastructure and development projects in Qatar, particularly in the transport and shipping
sector.
“The main objective for the TRANS4 exhibition is to bring the most advanced solutions and services in transport and logistics in one place. Apart from the high quality products and technologies that Italy is famous for, we are also keen to attract other related services such as engineering consultancy firms and sustainability research institutes. We are pleased to co-operate with the IICUAE to represent TRANS4 exhibition in Italy and to Italian companies based in Qatar and the UAE, and I am looking forward to welcoming Italian companies and businesses to TRANS4 2011,” al-Misnad added.
Cesarotto said: “It is a privilege to organise the Italian participation at the high-profile TRANS4 2011. Exhibiting in the event offers top Italian manufacturers a single-window access to an extremely dynamic market such as Qatar. We are confident that the Italian companies will generate a lot of sales leads that could soon be converted into firm business orders.
“TRANS4 is the perfect venue to highlight the growth in this important sector in Qatar and the region, where it has taken important dimensions. Italy is already one of the main global suppliers of high-end products and technologies related to transport logistics and shipping services.” According to recent reports, the volume of trade between Qatar and Italy is to increase to €2bn (QR10bn) in 2011 from €1.55bn in 2010.
