Hong Kong billionaire and chairman of Cheung Kong Holdings (0001.HK), Li Ka-Shing, bought 400,000 shares of Cheung Kong for approximately HK$44.86 million at an average price of HK$112.14 per share, raising his shareholding in Cheung Kong to 42.62 percent, reports yicai.com, citing Hong Kong media reports.
Meanwhile, Hang Lung Group purchased 10.47 million shares of Hang Lung Properties (0101.HK) at an average price of HK$28.19 per share for HK$295 million, increasing its stake in the latter from 49.99 percent to 50.23 percent.
As of yesterday's close, Cheung Kong Holdings and Hang Lung Properties were down 6.1 percent and 7.7 percent respectively from last Friday.
Li had earlier this year raised his stake in Cheung Kong Holdings a total of seven times, spending a total of HK$138 million.
Shares of Cheung Kong were up 3.51 percent to trade at HK$109.10 at 11:57 today.
