August 18 -- China Shenhua Energy (601088, 1088.HK), the largest coal producer in China, posted a 16.1 percent year-on-year increase in first half 2011 net profit to 21.87 billion yuan, with earnings per share of 1.099 yuan, reports caijing.com.cn, citing a company filing.
Revenue rose 40.5 percent year-on-year to 10.069 million yuan during the reporting period. Total assets as of end June was 377.06 billion yuan.
According to Shenhua Energy, the earnings numbers are based on preliminary statistics and have not been audited.
In addition to coal, Shenhua Energy is engaged in the generation and sale of power, and the provision of transportation services in China.
