BEIJING, Sep 01, 2011 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- The Chinese-based personal computer vendor Lenovo Group Limited (sehk:0992) is planning to design and manufacture intelligent TVs.

Previously, source indicated that big computer giant Apple Inc. (AAPL) will launch iOS-based TVs amid doubts in the intelligent TV industry, while domestic computer manufactures are unwilling to be lagged behind.

The establishment of Swin Network Technology, a joint venture by Lenovo and BesTV, was seen as a move to pave way for Lenovo to march into the intelligent TV sector. The joint venture will center on internet terminal to arrange its business during the primary stage of its establishment so as to promote mobile terminals used for diversified screens of mobile phone, personal computer, tablet PC and TV.

Lenovo CEO also expressed that the cooperation is strategically significant to Lenovo to develop in the mobile internet sector. While the strategic cooperation with SMG (Shanghai Media Group) could greatly covers the shortages in contents and services so as to establish a win-win partnership in terms of contents and products.
