Dell is set to expand its workforce at its Chengdu base from 300 currently to 3,000 soon. Dell plans to have Chengdu serve as its second operating base.

Dell expects to use Chengdu's advantages in location to strengthen its services in western China and Europe, while the new railroad across Europe and China is expected to help Chengdu connect to Europe and other parts of the world.
