In line with declining global copper prices, quotes for copper foils from Taiwan makers will drop by 3% on average sequentially in October, the third month in a row that the makers have cut their product prices, according to industry sources.
Quotes for copper prices for Taiwan-based copper foil makers have dropped from US$9,272 per metric ton in mid-August to US$8,865 in mid-September. Accordingly, October prices for 1/2-ounce copper foils from Taiwan makers will fall 3% to US$12.20/kg, indicated the sources.
The reduction in copper foil prices will bring pressure for Taiwan-based copper-clad laminate (CCF) makers to also slash their product prices in the fourth quarter, commented the sources.
