October 19 -- China Mobile (0941.HK) said its suite of smart home and home automation services are now available in 26 provinces, reports 163.com, citing a company filing.
The services are based on The Internet of Things technology, which allow home owners to meet their security needs and provide the ability to remotely control home appliances.
China Mobile plans to roll out the entire suite of smart home services over three phases.
In the first phase, home security systems will be connected with the mobile phones of home owners. This will allow both the mobile phones and the home security systems to send out alerts to home owners in the event of any unusual occurrences.
The services were launched last May and had attracted 28,000 users thus far.
