Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) has confirmed recent speculation that the company is suing Mong-Song Liang, a former R&D executive. The company said it is unable to comment because the suit against Liang has entered the proceedings and investigation stage.
TSMC's action seeks to prevent Liang from revealing TSMC's trade secrets and patents related to its advanced process technology to Samsung Electronics, for which Liang now serves as R&D VP, industry sources have claimed.
Liang was formerly a senior director of R&D at TSMC's Advanced Modules Technology Division.
