Gasgoo.com (Shanghai October 31) - BYD has seen a major swing for the better performance in this past third quarter. According to a report in the China Securities Journal today, the manufacturer's business returns grew 10.95 percent from last year, and its net profit grew an astounding 582 percent, totaling 77.37 million yuan ($12.23m).

BYD's returns for the first three quarters totaled 34.33 billion yuan ($5.42b), with a cumulative net profit of 352 million yuan ($55.65m). The manufacturer sold 94,024 vehicles from January to September, 9.1 percent higher than the amount sold in the first nine months of 2010. Sales of its first SUV, the S6 (pictured above), have been especially strong, while the new G6 (pictured below) also made a successful market debut.

BYD also began selling the E6 pure electric to personal buyers last week.

According to the company's predictions, the fourth quarter should be even better for its business, with its recently introduced models helping it entice new buyers. The company's sales have decreased 35 to 65 percent when compared with last year's performance.
