Beijing consumer market remained stable and retail sales reached 560.89 billion yuan with a same-period growth of 11.2% from January to October, 0.3 percentage point lower than that in the first nine months, according to statistics of the municipal government. It is worth noting that online sales almost doubled to 25.76 billion yuan with an increase of 1.3 fold.

Beijing Bureau of Statistics said that sales in wholesales, hospitality and catering industries amounted to 48.29 billion yuan, 11.98 billion yuan and 52.7 billion yuan, which grew by 24.1%, 16.2% and 15.2% respectively. However, retail industry did not see fast growth like the above three, gaining 447.91 billion yuan in sales with a growth rate of 9.4%, 0.4 percentage points lower than that in the first nine months.
