Huadian Power International (600027.SH 01071.HK) has recently received a notice from the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) in connection with adjustment of electricity tariff in 10 PRC regions. In particular, tariff for the Southern power grid of Hebei Province was significantly raised by RMB2.83 cent/kWh.
In addition, in order to encourage coal-fired power enterprises to implement the denitration requirement, denitration electricity prices will be paid on a trial basis to enterprises of the company, located in the provinces of Shandong, Hebei, Zhejiang, Guangdong and Sichuan and in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, which have installed and operated denitration devices subject to approval by competent provincial pricing authority and provided that the denitration process is accepted upon inspection by the environment authority at the national or provincial level. The tariff will temporarily be set at RMB0.8 cent/kWh.
The above tariff adjustment came into effect from 1 December 2011. The weighted average on-grid tariff of the units under the company has been adjusted upward by RMB2.68 cents/kWh.
