December 13, China`s food exports to U.S. and Europe countries stood at 12,700 and 13,800 batches respectively, with an acceptance rate of 99.53% and 99.78%, according to a white paper on China`s foreign trade published by the State Council Information Office.
The white paper points out that unbalanced, uncoordinated, unsustainable problems still exist in China`s foreign trade development. Those problems can be seen most clearly in the excessive dependence of China`s exports growth on resources, energy, land, labor and environmental input, but inadequate input in science and technology, management and innovation.
A contradiction has manifested itself between China`s foreign trade development and its energy supply and environmental bearing capacity.
The paper showed that China`s competitiveness in corporate research and development, design, marketing and services remains weak.
Also, products with intellectual property rights and branded goods by Chinese companies only account for a small proportion of the country’s exports.
