A Wisconsin manufacturer has signed a five-year agreement to build Chinese equipment in the U.S., according to a report in the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. The Oldenburg Group, a manufacturer of specialized heavy equipment and lighting products, has signed a deal with Zhengzhou New Dafang Heavy Industry Science and Technology Co. to build products for the North and South American markets.

The machinery includes wind-turbine cranes and other heavy equipment such as machines used in shipyards and bridge construction. Oldenburg, based in Glendale, Wis., said the machines could be built at its factory in Rhinelander, Wis., or Iron River, Mich. The contract is valued at more than $100 million.

"At a time when so many American products are produced in Chinese factories, we are happy to return the favor," Oldenburg President Timothy Nerenz said. The deal is expected to generate between 100 and 200 new jobs, the newspaper reported.
