Taiwan approved 2,283 foreign direct investment projects (except from China) with a total value of US$4.955 billion in 2011, respectively increasing by 11.80% and by 30.01% on year, according to Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) statistics.

Last year MOEA approved 306 outward direct investment projects (except in China) proposed by Taiwan-based companies or individuals with a total value of US$3.697 billion, respectively rising by 23.89% and by 30.93% on year.

Also in 2011, MOEA approved 102 investment projects proposed by China-based enterprises with a total value of US$43.736 million. It also approved 575 projects of direct investment in China proposed by Taiwan-based companies or individuals with a total amount of US$13.187 billion, increasing by 11.00% and by 7.12% respectively on year.
