DRAM maker Inotera plans to hold a shareholders meeting on February 22 to discuss a NT$1.5 billion (US$51 million) private placement. Industry sources indicated that Micron will likely claim more than 50% of the private placement. Currently, the two firms each own 30% of Inotera's shares.
Micron lent NT$4 billion to Inotera showing strong support. Micron wants to hold more Inotera shares and capacity. Industry sources added that once Micron obtains more 12-inch wafer capacity, the firm will use it to expand mobile RAM and DRAM product lines for cloud computing.
