Gasgoo.com (Shanghai February 15) - Shanghai General Motors has officially denied recent allegations that certain models of its Chevrolet Cruze compact contain excess levels of electromagnetic radiation, China Business News reported today.

The joint venture invited the Physical and Chemical Research Center of Science and Environmental Analysis to carry out tests of the body of the 1.6 L automatic Cruze (pictured). According to the results, radiation levels fall comfortably within Chinese and international standards.

In an official statement, Shanghai GM explains that it employs electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) tests that adhere to both domestic and GM's international standards when manufacturing its vehicles. The joint venture also ensures that any electronic auto parts it uses adhere to said EMC standards by submitting them to trusted third parties for through inspection.
