Caterpillar has announced to expand its manufacturing facility in Xuzhou, China. The expansion is schedualed to be finished in 2016, with hydraulic excavator production capacity increasing by 80 percent.

Caterpillar also announced Wednesday that it plans to begin production of wheel excavators at Caterpillar Xuzhou in early 2014. Caterpillar currently produces wheel excavators in Grenoble, France. Production in Grenoble will continue, while the wheel excavators produced in China will position Caterpillar to compete in China and other markets with this product.
