Caterpillar announced recently a new expansion for Xuzhou Manufacturing Base. The project is scheduled to go into operation in 2016, with the hydraulic excavator production capacity of Caterpillar (Xuzhou) Co., Ltd. (Caterpillar Xuzhou) improving by up to 80%; in addition, Caterpillar also announced to began producing wheel excavator in Caterpillar Xuzhou, further expanding the company’s product line and services and providing more choices for Chinese and other growing markets, according to Doug Oberhelman, Chairman and CEO of Caterpillar.

Oberhelman said: “The two projects we announced in China are also based on a long-term market planning, and focus on supplying a series of industrial leading products and services for the constantly increasing Chinese customers.”

Gary Stampanato, the vice president of Caterpillar in charge of Excavator Department, said: “Caterpillar has been producing excavator in China for nearly 20 years. With the increasing growth of market demand, we are expanding the capacity. The introduction of wheel loader to China will offer more choices for the customers, and also can help Caterpillar on its way to success.”
