At the recent Bo'ao Forum for Asia in Hainan province, Foxconn (2038.HK; 2354.TW) president Terry Gou revealed that the Taiwanese electronics manufacturer plans to move some of its technology manufacturing from Taiwan to Hainan. Gou said that Foxconn could begin with a plant in the city of Haikou, and expressed the hope that ground could be broken on the new plant within the year.
Foxconn also signed a strategic partnership agreement with Hainan airlines under which the two companies will developer partnerships in the fields of aviation, logistics, technology and real estate, business and trade, and electronics assembly plants.
