Intel, in line with its promotion of ultrabooks, has offered technological and/or financial support for China-based makers to help them join the Ultrabook Ecosystem Community, according to supply chain makers.
Intel has helped panel maker InfoVison Optoelectronics (Kunshan) obtain orders from ultrabook vendors including Asustek Computer and Lenovo, the sources indicated. In addition, fellow maker BOE Technology has been on Intel's list of suppliers of ultrabook panels, the sources noted.
Intel has assisted Guangdong Goworld in extending touch panel technology from handsets to ultrabooks, the sources said. Through cooperation with Intel, Guangdong Goworld has completed development a capacitive touch panel solution for use in 11.6-inch ultrabook, with Lenovo being a major client.
Shenzhen Laibao High-Tech, a maker of capacitive Touch on Lens used in smartphones, tablet PCs, ultrabooks and notebooks, has won support from Intel, the sources said.
Intel has cooperated with TongDa Group, a maker of cases, to help it negotiate orders with Toshiba, Dell, Lenovo and Asustek, the sources indicated.
