Geely's June sales surge 41% behind crossovers, upgraded sedans

Geely Automobile Holdings' deliveries advanced 41 percent from a year earlier to 46,574 vehicles in June on volume generated by two new crossovers and an upgraded sedan.
 
Geely launched sales of two new crossover models, the NL3 and Emgrand GS, this year. Last month, it sold 8,142 NL3s and 4,600 Emgrand GSs.
 
Deliveries of the upgraded Vison compact sedan jumped 32 percent to 9,069 vehicles. 
 
In the first six months, Geely's sales rose 11 percent year on year to 280,337 vehicles. The company is targeting deliveries of 600,000 vehicles in 2016.
 
Next year, Geely will start producing a series of compact vehicles based on a platform it has jointly developed with Volvo, according to Chinese media. 
 
Geely, based in the east China city of Hangzhou, is listed in Hong Kong. Its parent Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co. also owns Volvo Car Corp.
