Chairman of Taiwan-based battery maker Simplo Technology Raymond Sung, at a press conference on October 12, confirmed that the company had some issues with its batteries, but the problem has already been resolved and related orders have also already been re-shipped. The company declined to comment on which clients or battery models were affected, although previous reports indicate Apple and its iPad 2 devices were affected.
For the fourth quarter, although the IT industry is facing a rather difficult situation, Simplo is still confident of achieving its financial forecast to earn a profit the same as its capital stock for 2011.
Simplo pointed out that the incident is was a minor setback, while market watchers also believe that Simplo is able to resolve such problems with ease as the company has long years of experience and technologies.
Simplo had revenues of NT$4.5 billion (US$148.56 million) for September, down 5.8% on month. Its revenues for the third quarter achieved its forecast and reached NT$13.75 billion, up 14.13% sequentially.
