Asustek Computer continued to rank as the top vendor of LCD monitors in the Taiwan market in the first nine months of 2011. Asustek's shipments accounting for a 25-30% share of the local LCD monitor market, according to an estimate by industry sources.
Asustek also managed to widen its market share against rival ViewSonic and Chimei to over 10pp as the company not only struck in motherboard/monitor bundled sales but also in the discrete monitor segment, said the sources.
ViewSonic and Chimei took the second and third-ranked titles in the local monitor market, with each taking up around a 15% share. Acer and AOC followed with each holding about an 11% share.
Sales of monitors in the Taiwan market are expected to reach 1.4 million units in 2011, the sources estimated.
