"The Plan for the Development of Chinese New Commercial Films" was announced on April 25 in Beijing as part of the 2nd Beijing International Film Festival, chinesefilms.cn reports.
The plan has been initiated by three companies who specialize in different areas of filmmaking, including Beijing Dadi Film Ltd., CashFlower Communication and China Film Assist Culture Media Co., Ltd. The presidents of the three companies involved said during the press conference that they will cooperate to produce 15 movies over the course of the next three years, with more than 300 million RMB worth of investment (about 47.8 million US Dollars).
The plan aims to offer integrated services for domestic commercial movies in the areas of general release, production and marketing.
Six movies included within the plan were unveiled during the event. Among them, the first domestic 3D thriller "Gui Hun" attracted the media's attention. Geng Ling, President of China Film Assist Culture Media Co., Ltd., renowned for its use of CGI technology, told reporters that in order to ensure the high quality of visual effects in the movie, her company will cooperate with foreign counterparts during the production process.
Wang Dayong, president of CashFlower Communication, said the group welcomes more investors and filmmakers to join the plan.
