CHINA Eastern Airlines said it flew 6.14 million passengers in October, a 47 percent jump from a year ago due to the World Expo in Shanghai.
Its revenue passenger kilometers were 8.8 billion, 54 percent more than in the same period last year, the Shanghai-based carrier said in a statement on its website.
China Southern Airlines, the nation's second largest carrier by market value, saw passenger numbers rise 15 percent in October to 7.05 million. Revenue passenger kilometers were 10.1 billion, a 17.9 percent annual jump.
