SAIC Baojun 630 to hit market in August

   Date:2011/07/15

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai July 14) - Following a short delay, SAIC-GM-Wuling has confirmed that its first own brand car, the Baojun 630, will come to the market around August 10, informationtimes.dayoo.com reported today. The 1.5 L version will be the first to come to market, and will be specifically targeted at second- and third-tier cities.

SAIC-GM-Wuling CEO Yuan Zhihui confirmed that the joint venture will be bringing the Baojun to market in early August. Future dealers for the car have come together for a summit in Liuzhou, Guangxi yesterday.

The Baojun 630 has gained high approval for its design, but the key to the car's success lies in its pricing and accessories. The Baojun 630 looks to be priced within 100,000 yuan ($15,452), with analysts predicting it to sell for 60,000 yuan to 90,000 yuan ($9,271-$13,907). The JV hopes to sell 200,000 units this year.
