GE Aviation opens China support center

   Date:2006/12/31
Thanks to a growing customer base in Asia, GE Aviation said it has opened the China Operations Center in Shanghai.

The center, which opened Aug. 10, provides 24-hour customer and product assistance for customers of GE and of CFM International, the joint engine venture between GE and Snecma of France, GE Aviation said.

"There are more than 1,600 GE and CFM56 engines in service in China," said Tony Aiello, general manager of customer and product support for GE Aviation. "With the opening of the China Operations Center, we now support that fleet locally."

The company also has a spare parts service center in Beijing, an aero engine maintenance training center in Guanghan City and on-wing support operations in Xiamen, GE said.
