MELVILLE, N.Y., Aug 22, 2011 (GlobeNewswire via COMTEX) -- Comtech Telecommunications Corp. /quotes/zigman/70349/quotes/nls/cmtl CMTL +0.16% announced today that its Santa Clara, California-based subsidiary, Comtech Xicom Technology, Inc. recently received an order for $7.1 million from a major U.S. prime contractor for Ka-Band power amplifiers.

Comtech's high-power amplifiers will be used in transportable USAF satellite terminals and expand an existing U.S. Air Force military satellite communications network. The Ka-band antenna-mount amplifiers feature high linear power and are designed for operation in challenging worldwide environments. The system is packed into multiple transit cases, making it ideal for global Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) service.
