The main products of Tongding Optical (002491.SZ) include communication fiber optical, communication optical cable and communication cable, etc. In the first three quarters of 2011, its operation revenue increased by 40.29% YoY to RMB 1.308 billion, of which operation revenue in Q3 increased by 56.77% compared with the same period of last year. In addition, its net profit in Q1-Q3 increased by 20.30% YoY to RMB 113 million.

China Mobile, China Telecom and China Unicom are the main customers of Tongding, 90% of orders are from these three operators. Tongding receives sufficient orders currently, and the capacity utilization is close to 100%. The capacity of Tongding reached about 10 million core km in 2011, and it will increase to 16 million core km after the expansion project is finished in 2012.

In 2011, Tongding invested RMB 300 million into optical fiber perform project, and expects to realize annual capacity of 75t optical fiber perform and 1,000 kt optical fiber in the next two and half years. Currently, Tongding still need to purchase 50% optical fiber and its optical fiber performs are purchased from FirstNet and ShinEtsu Chemical.
