Shanghai Pudong Development Bank 600000.SH has been granted a banking licence in Hong Kong, allowing the lender to operate current and savings accounts, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority said on Monday.

With the inclusion of the bank, it will bring the total number of licensed banks in Hong Kong to 149, the authority said.

Shanghai Pudong Development Bank is partly owned by the world's biggest mobile operator China Mobile . It reported a 45 percent jump in net profit to 19.2 billion yuan in 2010. (Reporting by Kelvin Soh; Editing by Jacqueline Wong)
