Gasgoo.com (Shanghai November 23) - Auto Guangzhou 2011, Guangzhou's annual motor show, opened its doors yesterday to 51,896 visitors, the Guangzhou Daily reported today. Aside from the many breathtaking models walking around, the rows of luxury and super-luxury vehicles provided some of the most alluring eye candy. In fact, several of the models were snagged up on the show floor.
Hall 8.1, where the luxury manufacturers presented their models, saw its first influx of visitors at nine in the morning, when several vehicles displayed, including some Rolls-Royces, were snagged by prospective buyers. According to staff, buyers were not at all stingy, with one visitor dropping a two million yuan ($314,149) deposit on a long wheel-base Rolls-Royce Phantom (pictured).
In fact, some visitors had come to the show only to see vehicles which they had ordered far in advance. Reports cited Guangzhou and Pearl River Delta dealer owners constituting a fair portion of these visitors.
There are still vehicles at the show that have yet to be taken. A limited Aston Martin Zagato priced between eight million to 13 million yuan ($1.26m-$2.04m) has yet to find a buyer. Meanwhile, a limited Bentley Continental GT Supersports, priced at 5.68 million yuan ($892,184), is also still available. The car, which made its Chinese debut in Huanan, is limited to 100 vehicles worldwide, with only four those in China.
