Lianhua Supermarket to Build Large-Scale Distribution Center in Shanghai

Lianhua Supermarket invested 800 million yuan to build the Lianhua Supermarket Jiangqiao Distribution Center in Shanghai, the largest modern logistics system in China so far, and it will begin its construction on December 16, according to the retailer on December 12.
 
Jiangqiao Distribution Center, to be built in Shanghai Northwestern Comprehensive Logistics Park in the city's Jiading District, boasts an area of more than 200,000 square meters and has multiple logistics and supporting facilities and services, including procurement, inventory, product sorting, information processing and account settling. The center will mainly handle room-temperature products (including food, general merchandise and home appliances) and fresh food (including fresh food at room temperature and frozen food).
 
The new distribution center will cover Yangtze River Delta Region. In addition to thousands of Lianhua's stores in various business formats and its online platform, it will serve companies in the upper stream of the supply chain in this region, such as manufacturers, authorized agents, wholesalers and e-commerce companies, and other hypermarkets, supermarkets and convenience stores in the lower stream.
