SHANGHAI'S monthly pork imports reached an all-time high in November, and the city more than doubled its volume of the imports between January and November from the same period in 2010, according to Shanghai Customs.
The city imported 25,000 tons of pork in November at USD2,316 per ton, a historical high in both volume and unit price.
From January to November, Shanghai imported 99,000 tons of pork valued at US$200 million.
The volume rose by 2.5 times while the value gained 6.4 times. The average unit price was USD1,972.70 per ton.
