Largan Precision expects its shipments of lens modules for phone cameras to increase beginning the second quarter of 2012 due to clients developing new handset models, according to company CEO Lin En-ping at an investors conference on February 9.
Of lens modules shipped in the fourth quarter of 2011, 8-megapixel models accounted for nearly 40%, followed by 5-megapixel with slightly over 30% and 3-megapixel or less at 30%, Lin indicated. 8-megapixel will remain the mainstream resolution in 2012, Lin said.
