Aurora to invest CNY42 million to add logistics, production capacities in China

Aurora, a Taiwan-based own-brand vendor of office automation (OA) devices/equipment and business-use furniture, will extend its marketing from eastern, southern, and northern China to the western and central regions and therefore will set up production bases and logistics centers in the two regions via a planned investment of CNY42 million (US$6.67 million) in 2012, according to the company.

China market demand for business-use furniture is valued at CNY80 billion a year currently and is growing 15-20% annually. Aurora has deployed a marketing network of 100 stores in China and has attained a market share of 15%, the company indicated.

Annual demand for OA devices/equipment in China is estimated at 600,000 units currently and is expected to increase 10% a year. Aurora has established a network of 400 OA sales agents around China and has reached a market share of 5%, the company said.

Aurora brought in sales revenues of CNY1.38 billion in the China market in 2011, growing 13% from 2010 and contributing 48% of its consolidated revenues.
