Quanta Computer shipped 4.5 million notebooks in February, increasing 18.4% sequentially, but consolidated revenues slipped 10.59% on month, according to the company.
Low-cost notebooks accounted for a larger portion of total shipment in February than in January, and shipments of non-notebook products decreased in February, Quanta explained.
Quanta said it expects shipments in March to grow sequentially and total shipments in the first quarter of 2012 to drop on quarter by 5-10% as originally projected.
Wistron shipped 2.7 million notebook and tablet PCs, one million desktops, 1.3 million hand-held devices, 700,000 LCD monitors, 400,000 LCD TVs and 100,000 servers in February.
